The Ending of My Last Plan

Sermons From Pastor Justin Lester

The Ending of Your Last Plan.

Matthew 9:35-38

Psalm 63

Hear me.

God has equipped you to complete. To do. To become. To Go.

Planning is a part of the start.

Planning is beautiful.

Planning without action is a waste.

Today is the ending of your last plan because today I want to challenge you to do it.

To become, to pursue, to complete, to finish.

Today End your last plan.

Planning Often speaks to our dreams which is beyond us. So we settle for what we can attain or the traps of comparison to others who are where our dream lie.

Never forget, God does not duplicate or replicate.

God did not create you to recreate the wheel. God did create you to create a wheel that will be worth an attempt to be recreated.

Heres why. Maybe God won’t give you the “next” word because you didn’t do the last word.

Questions to Consider:

What is the last thing that God has challenged you to do?

What is the last plan you started working or writing?

Where have you settled without trying?

Principles to Apply

A - Give yourself an attainable do-date

B - Cut your goal in half.

A lot of resolutions and ideas and even business plans are built for an amazing month instead of an amazing year. Plan with a purpose to DO the plan.

1 - Be what you believe

What do you know God has called you to do? What do you believe you can do?

2 - Fall back in love with learning

Learning means you are learning and going and gaining more insight to Make yourself unnecessary

Teachers are those who make themselves progressively unnecessary.

Learn a thing

Do a thing

Teach a thing

John Piper said, “If you don’t feel strong desires for the manifestation of the glory of God, it is not because you have drunk deeply and are satisfied. It is because you have nibbled so long at the table of the world. Your soul is stuffed with small things, and there is no room for the great.”

You will see that live posits you in three seasons.

A Season of Surviving - where you are just trying to make it

A season of Success - when you gain something

A season of significance - where you now pour back into the survivors.

If you sit in constant planning you are going to sit in constant survival. You can not progress ahead, then I challenge you to pause and see

1 - where am I

2 - What am I doing

3 - Where do I need to go

If you are still in a season of surviving, you can make the choice to move your language, your influencers, your placement from surviving to thriving. Beware of what you becomes in the pursuit of what you think you want

Things to Consider:

List the books you read in the past 6 months

Furthest traveled

Mentors?

Describe the last time you failed

What areas of like are you currently curious about

What words have you recently added to your vocabulary

Learned recently that has altered how you think or behave

Memorized lately?

Never stop learning because life never stops teaching

Matthew 9:

Jesus says The Lord of the harvest says the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

What are you “doing”

You’ve got to be what you believe

You’ve got to keep learning

You’ve got to keep reading!

What are you doing!

Psalm 63:

Notice. There is a hunger the writer has For God that makes him realize that the room he has given his mind to the frivolous

Enemies, self depreciation

Does not matter.

What matters is I am SO HUNGRY for God that I will DO for God to KEEP God close to me. I will DO what matters. I will not just plan to be with God, I will make it a point ti be with God.

When you live to have meaningful and meaning making experiences. You change the way you budget. You change the people you hang with. You change the opportunity that comes up: because you...are living to create experiences.

You are doing life,

Not watching life

You are living life

Not comparing to others

What experiences are you making?
