The 2011 Theme for the Baptist Youth Fellowship is YES - Youth Empowered to Serve!

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12 - New International Version)

Now that the New Year is here, it's time to get to work! Our youth participate in regular business meetings to plan social and spirit filled events that will respond to the needs and the interests of young people and connect them to the community of faith. We have so many activities planned for the 2011 year that we need to get started right away!
Our hope is to keep this page updated so that you can see all the wonderful things we will be involved in throughout the year! CONGDON GOT SOLE!

Throughout January 2011
BYF will be collecting new and gently used shoes, clothes and household items for less fortunate families. Donations will be collected in the Fellowship Hall and will be given to Big Sisters of Rhode Island [bigsistersri.org]

CPR, FIRST AID & SAFETY SEMINAR

January 15, 2011 at 11:00 am
(POSPONED - check back for rescheduled date)
Learn CPR, First Aid and Safety with a trained professional. Get the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize, and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illness until advanced medical personnel arrives. Seminar will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Fellowship Hall.

YOUTH BIBLE STUDY

Come out and bring a friend! We will be having bible study on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 6pm in the Deborah C. McCrea Fellowship Hall. Bring your bible and a desire to learn as we share and fellowship with one another.

BYF will be sponsoring a READ-A-THON! All proceeds will go towards the creation of a library in Africa. The Read-a-thon encourages our youth to read each day, and emphasizes the important link between reading and learning. Pledge forms, flyers and information packets can be picked up at church.
